SHOVEL RESEARCH FMBCH (Fork Mounted Brake Cable Hanger)
SHOVEL RESEARCH is a small machine shop based in Portland, Oregon, run by SAL, a designer who excels at creating niche products for the bike industry. The cable hanger was specifically designed to work with aftermarket forks, providing a solution for wide-profile cantilever brake setups.
This hanger offers enough height to ensure optimal setup of wide-profile cantilever brakes. It provides increased rigidity when the distance from the headset to the cable carrier is long, and it simplifies cable routing to avoid sharp bends when the head tube is very short. Additionally, it minimizes cable friction when using front bags.
The design incorporates slots for weight reduction and drilled holes for aesthetics, and each piece is CNC-machined in Portland, Oregon.
